When Ashbel Roundy was born on 28 June 1796, in Lempster, Sullivan, New Hampshire, United States, his father, Alvin Roundy, was 30 and his mother, Sarah Steele, was 26. He married Lucretia Nott on 17 May 1821. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 11 March 1883, in Stockbridge, Windsor, Vermont, United States, at the age of 86, and was buried in Stockbridge, Windsor, Vermont, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

1808 · Concord Becomes the Capital

In 1808, Concord became the capital of New Hampshire. It was originally the Penacook Plantation given to the state by the Massachusetts Bay Colony. 

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.
