When Fogavai Felagai Fataloto was born on 17 January 1917, in Tuana'i, Tuamasaga, Upolu, Samoa, her father, Felagai Fataloto, was 19 and her mother, Leai Fafai Togaga'e, was 16. She married Imo Tauvao Tualatamalelagi on 12 August 1937, in Upolu, Samoa. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 11 January 1970, in Upolu, Samoa, at the age of 52, and was buried in Tuana'i, Tuamasaga, Upolu, Samoa.
