When Barbara Blatter was born on 1 May 1782, in Walzenhausen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, her father, Wilhelm Blatter, was 48 and her mother, Anna Faesaler, was 34. She married Johann Jacob Rohner on 24 September 1805. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 10 February 1846, at the age of 63, and was buried in Walzenhausen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland.
