When Lolesio Seufatu Alailesulu was born on 12 January 1904, in Solosolo, Atua, Upolu, Samoa, his father, Lealailesulu Moesami Fonoivasa, was 30 and his mother, Kalala Savaiinaea Fuetaai, was 22. He married Iulia Sitagata on 24 April 1930, in Lotofaga, Tuamasaga, Upolu, Samoa. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 15 May 1985, in his hometown, at the age of 81, and was buried in Solosolo, Atua, Upolu, Samoa.
