When Jordan D Mitchell was born on 17 August 1794, in Montgomery, Virginia, United States, his father, Archelaus Mitchell, was 25 and his mother, Spicy Goodwin, was 22. He married Isabella J Gore on 19 April 1818, in Botetourt, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Logan, Virginia, United States for about 10 years and Logan, Logan, Virginia, United States in 1850. He died in 1863, in Logan, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 69.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.
