Anna Persdotter was born in 1677, in Odensvi, Kalmar, Sweden as the daughter of Per Nilsson and Brita Kvigestad. She married Olof Nilsson on 22 October 1705, in Odensvi, Kalmar, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 9 April 1740, in her hometown, at the age of 63.

The Great Northern War from 1700 through 1721 resulted in the loss of land amassed by Sweden in areas such as Germany, Norway, and Denmark.
