When Simon Grimm was born in 1621, in Körborn, Kusel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, his father, Johann Paul Grimm, was 20 and his mother, Anna Margarete Mossli, was 12. He married Maria Eva Knapp about 1645, in Pfeffelbach, Sankt Wendel, Rhineland, Prussia. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 27 July 1684, in Kusel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the age of 63.
