When Jacob Olofsson was born on 20 September 1715, in Odensvi, Kalmar, Sweden, his father, Olof Nilsson, was 44 and his mother, Anna Persdotter, was 38. He married Maria Larsdotter on 30 April 1741, in Odensvi, Kalmar, Sweden. He died on 25 June 1774, at the age of 58.
