He married Emilie Johannesdatter on 16 July 1872. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Nord-Odal, Hedmark, Norway in 1844. He died in 1906, in Bjørnstad, Hedmark, Norway, at the age of 62.
