He married Sarah Cooper on 23 September 1813, in Highland, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Haw Creek Township, Morgan, Missouri, United States in 1860 and Penn Township, Highland, Ohio, United States in 1870. He died on 19 August 1874, at the age of 82, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Fairfield Township, Highland, Ohio, United States.
