When Lea'auta Alalatoa Namulau'ulu was born on 6 October 1829, in Fogapoa Savai'i, Samoa, her father, Faleseu Atamu Reupena Lauaki Namulauulu, was 26 and her mother, To'iata Alaalatoa, was 22. She married Salima Tautaioleua Malietoa on 12 December 1848, in Salafai, Samoa. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 9 April 1902, in Sapapalii, Samoa, at the age of 72.
