When Katharina Geiser was born on 8 March 1833, in Langenthal, Bern, Switzerland, her father, Johannes Geiser, was 34 and her mother, Anna Rüfenacht, was 28. She married Friedrich Steudler in 1854. They were the parents of at least 3 sons. She died on 15 October 1870, in Geneva, Switzerland, at the age of 37.
