When Israel Marcy was born on 23 January 1717, in Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America, his father, John Marcy, was 27 and his mother, Experience Colburn, was 24. He married Abigail Fuller on 9 October 1742, in Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. He died on 27 July 1792, in his hometown, at the age of 75, and was buried in Woodstock Hill Cemetery, Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, United States.

1781 · British Forces Capture Fort Griswold

The capture of Fort Griswold was the final act of treason that Benedict Arnold committed. This would be a British victory. On the American side 85 were killed, 35 wounded and paroled, 28 taken prisoner, 13 escaped, and 1 twelve year old was captured and released.
