He married 'Ainise 'Anau Tanginitopa on 23 July 1940, in Neiafu, Vava'u, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 6 sons. He died on 3 December 1994, in his hometown, at the age of 78, and was buried in Neiafu, Vava'u, Tonga.
