When Hercules Hays was born in 1805, in Kentucky, United States, his father, William Hercules Hayes Jr, was 27 and his mother, Eleanor VanVactor Burcham, was 24. He married Ann Susan Isabel Ray on 15 December 1833, in Washington, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Hickman, Kentucky, United States for about 10 years. He died in 1868, at the age of 63, and was buried in Hays Cemetery, Clinton, Hickman, Kentucky, United States.

Atlantic slave trade abolished.

1812 · Kentucky Bend Created

During the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-1812, the Kentucky Bend or New Madrid Bend was created. It is located in the southwestern corner of Kentucky on the banks of the Mississippi River.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.
