When Doctor James Pearson was born on 17 April 1787, in Franklin, Virginia, United States, his father, Sherwood Pearson, was 45 and his mother, Elizabeth Ligon, was 38. He married Phoebe Rives Brown on 12 October 1814, in Franklin, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He died on 4 September 1833, in McMinn, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 46.

1788 · The First Presidential Election

The First Presidential election was held in the newly created United States of America. Under the Articles of Confederation, the executive branch of the country was not set up for an individual to help lead the nation. So, under the United States Constitution they position was put in. Because of his prominent roles during the Revolutionary War, George Washington was voted in unanimously as the First President of the United States.

1788 · Becomes the 10th state

On June 25, 1788 Virginia became the 10th state. 

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
