When Maria Magdalena Scheuss was born on 1 October 1729, in Herisau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, her father, Josua Scheuss, was 40 and her mother, Barbara Hohener, was 42. She married Hans Ulrich Preisig on 11 June 1750, in Schwellbrunn, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 31 July 1806, at the age of 76, and was buried in Switzerland.
