When Henry Graves was born in 1808, in Petitcodiac, Westmorland, New Brunswick, British North America, his father, Charles Graves, was 23 and his mother, Ann DeBow, was 21. He married Susannah Dunfield on 1 January 1838, in Sussex, Kings, New Brunswick, Canada. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 21 May 1890, in Elgin, Albert, New Brunswick, Canada, at the age of 82, and was buried in Goshen United Baptist Cemetery, Goshen, Elgin, Albert, New Brunswick, Canada.
