When Berta Ericsdotter was born on 24 August 1746, in Skepparslöv, Gärd, Kristianstad, Sweden, her father, Erik Persson, was 31 and her mother, Kerstin Nilsson, was 28. She married Pehr Åkesson on 20 November 1768. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 7 March 1818, in her hometown, at the age of 71.
