When Fa'ane was born in 1834, in Pangai, Ha'apai, Tonga, her father, Hafoka, was 26 and her mother, Mele 'Ahome'e, was 22. She married Lilo in 1862, in Fotuha'a, Ha'apai, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. She died about 1908, in Ha'apai, Tonga, at the age of 75, and was buried in Ha'apai, Tonga.
