    Native American (mainly Jemez Pueblo): possibly of Spanish origin (see 2 below).

    Aragonese and Catalan: possibly a nickname from Catalan toia ‘bunch of flowers’. This surname is very rare in Spain.

    Japanese: written 戸谷 ‘door valley’. It is found in eastern Japan. In western Japan it is pronounced Totani.
