When Arni Jonsson was born in 1735, in Reykjavík, Capital Region, Iceland, his father, Jon Bergsteinsson, was 52 and his mother, Johanna Jonsdottir Hjaltalin, was 20. He married Vigdis Klemensdottir in 1766, in Reykjavík, Capital Region, Iceland. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He died in 1819, at the age of 84.
