When Elisabeth Buhlmann was born on 14 June 1816, in Schangnau, Bern, Switzerland, her father, Christian Bühlmann, was 33 and her mother, Elsbeth Zimmermann, was 33. She married Christian Reber in 1837, in Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. She died in October 1880, at the age of 64.
