When George Weber was born on 12 April 1790, in Worcester, Worcester Township, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, United States, his father, John George Weidner Weber, was 20 and his mother, Elizabeth Schneider Reiff, was 20. He married Sarah Beaver on 17 November 1812, in Norristown, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 2 June 1851, in his hometown, at the age of 61, and was buried in Como, Whiteside, Illinois, United States.

1791 · Whiskey Rebellion Occurs

The Whiskey Rebellion was a protest against taxes on whiskey by farmers and distillers. People were tarred and feathered. They attacked Bower Hill and headed towards Pittsburgh. The militia was sent in to try and stop it. It finally ended with a repeal of the tax.

This form of the surname is also established in many other parts of Europe, notably in France (mainly Alsace and Lorraine), Poland, and the Netherlands. In Hungary it is mostly spelled Wéber and Véber. In Russia, Slovenia, Czechia, Slovakia, and Croatia it is (also) established in the Slavicized form Veber , which is in Czechia also spelled Vebr. History: As a name of ultimately Swiss German origin the surname Weber is also established among the American Mennonites. However, descendants of the early Mennonite settlers, who came to PA in the early 18th century, mostly bear the Americanized form of the name (see Weaver ).
