When Anna Christina Jönsdotter Bååth was born on 29 May 1696, in Sankt Maria, Ystad, Malmöhus, Sweden, her father, Jöns Olofsson Bååth, was 29 and her mother, Anna Carstensdotter Richardt, was 37. She married Christian Lorentz Friis on 4 February 1715. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. She died on 4 August 1749, in her hometown, at the age of 53.

The Great Northern War from 1700 through 1721 resulted in the loss of land amassed by Sweden in areas such as Germany, Norway, and Denmark. Nearly 200,000 Swedes lost their lives due to the war while Sweden lost much of its dominance in the Baltic Region.
