When Ephraim Vaught was born on 11 January 1797, in Shenandoah, Virginia, United States, his father, Simeon Vaught Sr., was 45 and his mother, Phoebe Hawley, was 21. He married Mary "Molsey" Rowland on 23 December 1822. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Warren, Virginia, United States for about 10 years. He died in May 1871, at the age of 74, and was buried in Warren, Virginia, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.
