John Killin was born in 1758, in Carlisle, Cumberland, Pennsylvania, United States as the son of Patrick Killin. He married Mary Rachel Harper on 19 November 1797, in Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Tiffin Township, Adams, Ohio, United States in 1820. He registered for military service in 177. He died on 10 September 1844, in Adams, Ohio, United States, at the age of 86, and was buried in West Union Cemetery, West Union, Tiffin Township, Adams, Ohio, United States.
