When Aaron Reasoner was born on 17 September 1800, in Mason, Kentucky, United States, his father, Nicholas Reasoner, was 35 and his mother, Mary Stout, was 28. He married Nancy Connell on 8 February 1832, in Lancaster, Fairfield, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Tipton, Tipton, Indiana, United States in 1870 and Carpenter Township, Jasper, Indiana, United States in 1880. He died on 25 September 1889, in Remington, Carpenter Township, Jasper, Indiana, United States, at the age of 89, and was buried in Macon, Illinois, United States.

The Cane Ridge Revival took place for six days in Cane Ridge, Kentucky. From August 6, 1801- August 12 or 13, 1801, around 20 thousand people gathered together for what was called the Second Great Awakening.

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

Name Meaning

Americanized form of an unidentified, presumably French surname, possibly Raisonnier, a derivative of Raison . However, the surname is documented in the form Rezner, which may also point to German origin (see below).

Possibly an Americanized form of German Riesener (see Reasner ).
