When Niels Poulson was born on 2 March 1851, in Bårslöf, Malmöhus, Sweden, his father, Pehr Påhlsson, was 48 and his mother, Elna Pehrsdotter, was 39. He married Ulrica Lundstedt in 1876, in Ludgo, Södermanland, Sweden. He lived in Landskrona, Malmöhus, Sweden for about 15 years. He died on 8 March 1891, at the age of 40.
