When Seth Dean Jr was born on 19 January 1786, in Barnard, Windsor, Vermont, United States, his father, Seth Dean, was 30 and his mother, Mary Bicknell, was 23. He married Martha Crocker French on 25 February 1813. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 22 April 1835, in his hometown, at the age of 49, and was buried in Barnard Village Cemetery, Barnard, Windsor, Vermont, United States.

1787 · The Making of the U.S. Constitution.

The Philadelphia Convention was intended to be the first meeting to establish the first system of government under the Articles of Confederation. From this Convention, the Constitution of the United States was made and then put into place making it one of the major events in all American History.

1791 · Vermont Becomes 14th State

On March 4, 1791, Vermont became the 14th state.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

A dean was an ecclesiastical official, the head of a chapter of canons or a church official with jurisdiction over a sub-division of an archdeaconry. The Middle English word deen, dien, dein, is a borrowing of Old French d(e)ien, doien from Latin decanus (originally a leader of ten men, from decem ‘ten’), and thus is a cognate of Deacon .
