When Søren Christian Severinsen was born on 20 October 1850, in Tårs, Børglum, Hjørring, Denmark, his father, Severin Johansen, was 67 and his mother, Bodil Marie Christensdatter, was 25. He married Ane Katrine Pallesen on 18 October 1872, in Torslev, Dronninglund, Hjørring, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Hjerk, Harre, Viborg, Denmark in 1880 and Ugilt, Vennebjerg, Hjørring, Denmark in 1890. He died on 19 April 1909, in Volstrup, Dronninglund, Hjørring, Denmark, at the age of 58, and was buried in Hørby, Dronninglund, Hjørring, Denmark.

The Copenhagen Waterworks was the first waterworks in Denmark and served the community until 1951. It was one of the first buildings to be built outside Copenhagen's old city walls.
The Copenhagen Zoo was founded in 1859 and is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. It was founded by a ornithologist named Niels Kjaebolling and the first animals that were at the opening were eagles, chickens, ducks, owls, rabbits, a fox, a seal and a turtle. The oldest building still is in use as a stable for the yak exibit. It is open everyday from 9:00am to 8:00pm (20:00).
