When Peder Jensen was born on 4 January 1838, in Vejlø, Vordingborg, Denmark, his father, Jens Johansen, was 35 and his mother, Ellen Pedersdatter, was 26. He married Karen Jørgensdatter on 8 July 1865, in Vejlø, Vordingborg, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He lived in Vejlø, Hammer, Præstø, Denmark for about 10 years and Sankt Mortens, Tybjerg, Præstø, Denmark in 1870. He died on 11 February 1908, at the age of 70.

1847 · Casino Theatre (Copenhagen)

The Casino Theatre was built as an entertainment center by Georg Carstensen but was converted into a theatre in 1848. After many years of never gaining popularity, it was closed in 1937 and demolished in 1960.

1849

Denmark becomes a constitutional monarchy. A two-chamber parliament is established.

1859 · Copenhagen Waterworks

The Copenhagen Waterworks was the first waterworks in Denmark and served the community until 1951. It was one of the first buildings to be built outside Copenhagen's old city walls.
