When Dorthe Hansdatter was born on 7 December 1783, in Fuglebjerg, Fuglebjerg, Vestsjælland, Denmark, her father, Hans Jensen, was 35 and her mother, Karen Nielsdatter, was 33. She married Hans Neilsen on 4 July 1818, in Krummerup, Antvorskov, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. She died on 29 December 1847, at the age of 64.
