Anna Barbara Bütikofer was born on 21 January 1781, in Sumiswald, Bern, Switzerland as the daughter of Niklaus Bütikofer and Maria Schreyer. She married Hans Marti on 13 May 1802, in Sumiswald, Bern, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. She died on 14 April 1848, in her hometown, at the age of 67, and was buried in Sumiswald, Bern, Switzerland.
