1888 · Bauxite Mining Began
Bauxite a rock with relatively high aluminum content, is the main source of aluminum for the world. When it was discovered in Arkansas it changed the state. The city of Bauxite, Arkansas was the site of the discovery.
1890 · The Sherman Antitrust Act
This Act tried to prevent the raising of prices by restricting trade. The purpose of the Act was to preserve a competitive marketplace to protect consumers from abuse.

An organization formed in favor of women's suffrages. By combining the National Woman Suffrage Association and the American Woman Suffrage Association, the NAWSA eventually increased in membership up to two million people.
