He married Mary Barker on 1 February 1786, in Cameron Parish, Loudoun, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Fairfax Parish, Fairfax County, Virginia, United States in 1820. He registered for military service in 1778. He died on 25 January 1837, in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, at the age of 79.
