He married Lyda Tennessee "Tennie" Welch on 25 December 1878, in Hamilton, Texas, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Justice Precinct 2, Mills, Texas, United States in 1900 and Des Moines, Union, New Mexico, United States in 1920. He died on 28 November 1934, in Seguin, Guadalupe, Texas, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in Center City Cemetery, Center City, Mills, Texas, United States.
