When 'Ilaisa'ane Vaine Finau was born on 3 December 1922, in Fua`amotu, Tongatapu, Tonga, her father, Soakai Finau, was 12 and her mother, Pilia’e Lesieli Ofa, was 16. She married Finau Filimoe'ulie Satini on 5 September 1941, in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. She died in 1982, at the age of 60, and was buried in Fua`amotu, Tongatapu, Tonga.
