He married Aase Halvorsdatter Austvatn on 26 August 1697, in Sør-Odal, Hedmark, Norway. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died in 1727, in Knapper, Nord-Odal, Hedmark, Norway, at the age of 57.
