When Erik Gaaserud was born about 1655, in Norway, his father, Lars Audunsen Gaaserud, was 60 and his mother, Inger Christiansdtr Gaaserud, was 38. He married Birte Ellingsdr on 24 June 1705, in Østre Toten, Oppland, Norway. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 3 January 1725, at the age of 71.
