He married Sarah Ann Page on 5 August 1863, in Huron, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Macdonald Rural Municipality, Manitoba, Canada in 1906 and Red Deer, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Canada in 1911. He died on 4 February 1929, in Burnaby, Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the age of 94, and was buried in Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
