When James “Bud” Varney was born on 1 February 1867, in Pike, Kentucky, United States, his father, Henry Clifton Varney, was 24 and his mother, Lydia E "Liddy" Blackburn, was 20. He married Louisa Trout on 29 October 1885, in Pike, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Magisterial District 6, Lawrence, Kentucky, United States in 1930 and Magisterial District 6, Pike, Kentucky, United States in 1940. He died on 7 September 1948, in Williamson, Mingo, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in Coeburn Point Cemetery, Huddy, Pike, Kentucky, United States.

1868 · Impeach the President!

Caused by many crimes and breaking the Tenure of Office Act, Many Senators and House Representatives became angry with President Johnson and began discussions of his Impeachment. After a special session of Congress, the Articles of Impeachment were approved by the House and then the Senate. Making Andrew Johnson the first President to be Impeached.

1868 · The Fourteenth Amendment
