When Gottlieb Siegenthaler was born on 14 February 1810, in Schangnau, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Samuel Siegenthaler, was 11807 and his mother, Anna Gerber, was 37. He married Barbara Hubacher on 2 May 1837, in Bümpliz, Bern, Bern, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 9 April 1893, at the age of 83.
