When Niels Jørgen Simonsen Nyboe was born on 24 July 1789, in Holstebro, Bøvling, Denmark, his father, Simon Nielsen Nyboe, was 44 and his mother, Else Catrine Nielsdatter Wiborg, was 26. He married Marie Sophie Henriksen Olgaard on 27 October 1822, in Vejrum, Lundenæs, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He died in 1843, at the age of 54.
