He married Ane Christensdatter on 3 October 1751, in Serritslev, Serritslev, Børglum, Hjørring, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 21 April 1800, in Hellum, Dronninglund, Hjørring, Denmark, at the age of 80, and was buried in Hellum, Dronninglund, Hjørring, Denmark.
