He married Sophia J Hiltz on 26 September 1865, in East Dalhousie, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1881. He died in 1881, at the age of 46, and was buried in East Dalhousie, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada.
