The town of Gary, Indiana, was founded by the United States Steel Corporation in 1906. The Gary Works steel mill was the largest integrated mill in North America. The city of Gary was named after Elbert Henry Gary who was the founding chairman of the United States Steel Corporation and American lawyer and county judge. Gary partnered with J.P.
