When Anders Jonsson was born on 8 October 1770, in Hjälstad, Skaraborg, Sweden, his father, Johan Andersson, was 23 and his mother, Stina Andersson, was 24. He married Maria Gustafssdotter on 17 January 1796. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He died on 16 June 1837, in Götlunda, Västra Götaland, Sweden, at the age of 66.
