He married Anna York about 1782, in Pownal, Bennington, Vermont, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 19 October 1848, in Newstead, Erie, New York, United States, at the age of 88, and was buried in Beeman Cemetery, Clarence, Erie, New York, United States.
