Name Meaning

English: probably a habitational name; there is a Farnsley Farm in Derbyshire, or it could perhaps be from any of the three places in Yorkshire named Farnley, named in Old English with fearn ‘fern’ + lēah ‘woodland clearing’. The surname seems to have died out in England.
